A piece commissioned by the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God in the UK, whose province is known as that of the Venerable Bede.
Saint Bede was best known as the author of the Ecclesiastical History of the English People, our primary source for understanding the
beginnings of the English people and the coming of Christianity. The brief followed that of a miniature I had done for them earlier of their founder,
Saint John of God, which was to make the religious figure look more modern and approachable. I have worked with this charity for a long time now, in
both my capacity as a designer and an artist, and I have found it immensely rewarding.
